Wellness Seminars
In September of 2007, NationalWay Healthcare Association, Holistic Wellness Solutions and the Wellness Outreach Foundation sponsored the first annual Health and Wellness Seminar in Houston, Texas (link to press item). Held at the George R. Brown Convention Center, admission was provided free of charge for everyone and school uniforms, school supplies and various prizes were given out as well.
Activities at the Seminar included health screenings, exercise instruction, wellness seminars, a blood drive, motivational speakers, massages along with entertainment and a large children’s play area. Local entertainers also had an opportunity to impress their talents upon attendees through song, rap and instrumental music.
The purpose of the Seminar was to provide inspiring education and share valuable knowledge on health and wellness. In doing so NWHA was communicating the importance of self-awareness and healthy decisions while advocating for the community in an effort to “Reach the Unreachable”.

How You Can Help
Community action is the key in any effort at improving the quality life of a nation and its people. Despite the attention and focus of state and federal elections, government action on providing health insurance to those in need has been limited and piecemeal at best. Those communities that take it upon themselves to help the underprivileged and nonqualified find information will find the situation can be improved even with grassroots efforts.
NationalWay seeks to improve the quality of life for all individuals by raising community awareness through education and access to information. The Association supports efforts by local organizations and leaders to assist the uninsured and underinsured as well as provide wellness education for communities as a whole.
If you have an idea about how to help or want to know what can be done in your own community, please send your proposal or inquiry to email@nationalway.com. Also, you can check with your area charitable organizations or donate your time at county hospitals. No effort is too small. If we all work together we can improve the health of our selves, families and nation.
